Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of one of our nation's premier Civil Rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1964, he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle to promote civil rights for African-Americans. Dr. King and his message of social justice continue to inspire and influence Americans and others around the world to this day.
In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, all VCCCD campuses and the District Administrative Center will be closed January 17.
