2021 Poetry Slam Students! Participate in our Diversity & Cultural Festival by entering your original poetry in the 2021 Poetry Slam. Write and share original poems that speak to Social Justice, coinciding with the One Book One Campus, “How to be an Anti-Racist” by Ibram X. Kendi, specifically with a focus around the hope and healing for what Social Justice may bring. The Ventura College Diversity & Culture Festival is a four-day event the week of April 12-15, 2021. The week-long event will include speakers, panels, and the annual VC Poetry Slam, composed of student poets performing their own written works. Events will take place via Zoom and poetry submissions will be pre-recorded. From the recorded poems submitted, finalists will be chosen by our judges and asked to perform their original work live via Zoom on Thurs, April 15th.
