Hernandez has developed the ‘Growing Together’ Latino Farmer Conference and the ‘Growing Together’ Black Farmer Conference with urban farmers. He has also been involved in outreach initiatives with farmer veterans and southeast Asian farming communities.

Patterson spent her summers from 2015 as a USDA 1890 scholarship student and USDA Pathways Program intern. Earlier this year, she came on board permanently with the NRCS team in the Management and Strategy division and is currently serving as the State Pathways Program Coordinator.
Juan Alejandre
Civil Engineer and Area Earth Team Coordinator
B.S. in Civil Engineering at Fresno State
Before coming onboard full-time with NRCS, Alejandre spent time in the private sector and completed the Pathways intern program in a number of NRCS field offices in the Central Valley and Siskiyou County. He came on board with the NRCS team in 2019 as field office engineer at the Modesto Service Center. Currently, Alejandre is the field office engineer in Hollister serving San Benito and Santa Clara County.
