HERoes! March is Women's History Month.
“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.“ Marian Wright Edelman
An advocate for disadvantaged Americans and children, Marian Wright Edelman has influenced leaders such at Martin Luther King Jr. and Hillary Clinton.
Edelman was the first African American woman admitted to The Mississippi Bar in 1964. She began practicing law with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund working on racial justice issues connected with the civil rights movement. She also helped establish the Head Start program.
